Brian stopped off in Hong Kong 19th to 25th October, 1994 - we linked up with Mike Waller - and did the Lamma walk. Basically a Ferry to Lamma island straight into one of the many seafood restaurants at Sok Kwu, lots of wine - then a walk round the bay, up the hills, past the cement works, along the top of the hills, past some rocky outcrops then down into a sandy bay (Hung Shing Weh beach), into the hotel there for a sherbert or two, then past the power station, into town (Yung Shue Wan) and the Waterfront bar (closed now) a few more sherberts then into the restaurant for Cheese, Meat, Seafood and Chocolate Fondues and more wine!! What a blow out!! Brian has emailed (16th Nov, 2005): I remember the fish restaurant - a veritable feast, with huge whole fish bought to table for picking at. Do you also remember me saying I liked the waitresses tea shirts? They gave me one before we left and I've still got it! It was extra-large so probably surplus to Chinese requirements! Have no recollection of fondues later though, but do remember quaffing beer after walk. He also reminds me - we tried to upend Janet into an Ice-Cream fridge just where the restaurants start at the land-end of the ferry pier - what lads we were!!
