Brian stopped off in Hong Kong 19th to 25th October, 1994 - we linked up with Mike Waller - and did the Lamma walk. Basically a Ferry to Lamma island straight into one of the many seafood restaurants at Sok Kwu, lots of wine - then a walk round the bay, up the hills, past the cement works, along the top of the hills, past some rocky outcrops then down into a sandy bay (Hung Shing Weh beach), into the hotel there for a sherbert or two, then past the power station, into town (Yung Shue Wan) and the Waterfront bar (closed now) a few more sherberts then into the restaurant for Cheese, Meat, Seafood and Chocolate Fondues and more wine!!

What a blow out!!

Brian has emailed (16th Nov, 2005):

I remember the fish restaurant - a veritable feast, with
huge whole fish bought to table for picking at. Do you also remember me
saying I liked the waitresses tea shirts? They gave me one before we
left and I've still got it! It was extra-large so probably surplus to
Chinese requirements! Have no recollection of fondues later though, but
do remember quaffing beer after walk.

He also reminds me - we tried to upend Janet into an Ice-Cream fridge just where the restaurants start at the land-end of the ferry pier - what lads we were!!

We're well past the cement works by now - nearly at the top of the hills.

Just a quick rest at a little pavillion just past the rocky outcrops. (Rolex!!)

Crossing the sandy bay to the hotel.

Proof positive that we reached the Waterfront Bar...

An earlier view from the Waterfront Bar 2nd floor area...
